Sonali’s Final Catskill 3500 peak!!!!!
A beautiful fall hike, The trees were very near peak although a little mellow this year because of lack of rain. The forecast was for 42 degrees with a real feel of 32. The wind was bitter at the top, where it felt like late autumn. The hikers were Sonali, SheShe, Ed, Crom, and a very special guest hiker- President of the 3500 club- Connie.
Doubletop is a easy bushwhack to navigate as long as you can stay on the top of the ridge.
Congratulation Sonali!!!!
Stats: 5.6 miles and 1863 feet elevation gain. We did it in 4:59 for a average speed of 1.13 MPH. 940 calories (which compensated that fine burger at Rocco’s afterward)

Love me bushwhacks !!! Was a gr8 hike but even gr8er company! I would disagree with 1 pt – it felt like winter not fall- Afterall it was snowing off and on! And Connie had chili for lunch!! Wow you can really see how many times we rolled off the ridge on the way down- fighting gravity. Good times.
A very memorable hike for me – It was my final 3500 hike, but it was made even more special by the company. Thanks all.
Loved the topographic image – that is pretty cool. And I agree with Sheila, it was winter at the top, especially during our descent early on
It was a great hike and wonderful company. Keep me posted on future hikes. Your pictures are great, captured the day.
